Why LinkedIn isn't LinkedOut (see what I did there)

I admit. I was an early adopter 15 years ago. Sounds great! A social platform that focuses more on business ideas than complaints about your neighborhood HOA?
Sold!
But wait a minute. I'm not sold. And here's why...
It's a lot of bragging. A lot of "celebrating my new role" and "#opentowork" and complaining about hiring practices, etc. For me that's a whole lot of...so what?
I didnt't think LinkedIn matters. Yes, I said that. I ESPECIALLY hate that someone can write the greatest two paragraphs in the world and it might get a like or two, while someone "well-known" can write a diatribe that is truly a TED talk knock-off and have a thousand shares.
Girl, bye.
Until (wait for it) - I realized that the gig consultant life was NOT the life that sustains my family. So, here comes LinkedIn as the best job board since 2002 monster.com.
Ok, so, I am hollering at my skeptic friends...LinkedIn works! Maybe we can help it work so we can ALL get to work in the places that matter for us?
Deal? Deal.
